Empty Products: The February Edition

Well that month just flew by! I know it is a short one but still, it's as if I blinked and there was March. This month I didn't finish many products, perhaps that shows how busy I have been, I'm not sure, but here we go anyway!

La Roche Posay Physiological Micellar Solution: Not much to say about this other than it is pretty much the same as all of the other miscellar waters out there! This one doesn't have a scent particularly and does the job well, it struggles with mascara but I haven't used one that doesn't. It doesn't leave a residue behind either. It's easily accessible for those of you who are only aware of Bioderma, you can buy this one in Boots.
Will I buy this again?

Batiste Dry Shampoo in 'Cherry'; Ah, Batiste. My old reliable friend. Great dry shampoo that is easy to use and helps maintain clean looking hair while adding a bit of a volume boost at the roots too.
Will I buy this again?
I am trying to get through some other dry shampoos at the moment but they don't really compare in terms of ease of use and effectiveness so I will definitely be buying this again.

Soap and Glory Hand Maid Antibacterial Gel; This is one of my favourite antibacterial hand gels because it doesn't smell too strongly of alcohol. I also like that it is pink :-)

Champneys Aqua Therapy Recharging Bath Tonic- This gives the bath a few bubbles that last about 20 minutes and turns the bath water a lovely shade of blue. I wasn't too keen on the scent though, it was a bit masculine.
Will I buy this again?
No, it was nothing special.

Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment- I loved this, it helped maintain the ends of my hair, kept it looking healthy and free from split ends. Since I have stopped using this my hair does look a bit unkempt so there has been a noticeable difference. You can buy this from Hairtrade.
Will I buy this?

Clinique Airbrush Concealer in 01 Fair- I love this concealer. It is packaged like Touche Eclat and is dispensed through a brush. I don't use the brush as I don't find small point brushes like that particularly useful but the product itself is lovely. A medium coverage liquid concealer, this really smoothes over the skin and brightens areas. I didn;t really use it under my eyes but I loved using it to 'top up' throughout the day as it isn't very heavy. A great makeup bag concealer.
Will I buy this again?
Yes.

Super Facialist by Una Brennan Tea Flower Cleanser- This is my second one of these. It is an SLS free foaming wash that contains salicylic acid which is great for clearing out clogged pores. I love this and definitely notice that I have clearer skin when I am using this, however it is a bit too powerful to be used twice a day. I like this to be my morning cleanser!
Will I buy this again?
Yes but having a month or two break from it.

Two products I'm loving ATM

Soap and Glory Hand Food £2.35 for 50ml (Miniature)

Original Source Raspberry Milk and Vanilla Shower Gel £2.20

Not the most of exciting products, but two that make me very happy when I use them!

 Hand Food;

I like buying miniatures of products for two reasons; a) they are a handbag size, so easier to carry around if they are a product to use on the go. (Such as hand cream, like this) b) It's nice to 'test' something new out before buying the full size. Hand Food; it's the typical girly, eye- catching packaging and witty lines that Soap and Glory offer, but the contents inside are phenomenal. Yep, that good.  Soap & Glory claim that "Hand Food™ Hand Cream is a super-silky gorgeously-scented non-greasy hydrating hand cream featuring fennel and lotus flower extracts, which leaves your hands super smooth."- And they ain't lying.

This product softens hands instantly. The shiny plastic packaging means it doesn't get dirty or look manky from being in my bag for weeks. I use it quite a lot- I work on a makeup counter so use a lot of antiseptic serum and wipes on my hands after every customer so it dries them out. I recommend this product for baby soft, luxurious feeling hands! It takes a few minutes to soak in, but once it has the results are instant, particularly perfect for this frosty time of year! The smell is clean, and fresh, and the product is a joy to use.

Original Source Shower Gel;

I've always used Original Source but recently I noticed this product was vegan friendly (have they always been?) and in a way it did attract me to the product even more. Throughout the years I've tried most of the Original Source shower gels, shampoos and conditioners (unfortunately I cannot recommend the shampoos and conditioners, but hey you can't win everything!) but this Vanilla Milk & Raspberry one is without a doubt my favourite. My other favourites are White Pear and Avocado, and Mint (but I sometimes find this too strong to use). This one is a creamy consistency and feels quite indulgent when I use it, it lathers really well. It may be a silly point to make but I also feel really clean using it!- I think this is because the sweet smell lingers on my skin for a while after washing it off, lush :-) I love the pale pink colour and I think the bold yet unfussy packaging that Original Source adopt is pretty refreshing and makes it stand out in what is a saturated market. This particular scent is also available in a hand wash.

It's hard to get good photos which is why my posts lack every now and then; I leave the flat when it's dark, and return when it's dark! I always think it's important to get daylight photos of products, so bear with me! Soap and Glory Review #1

Soap & Glory 'Scrub Your Nose In It' facial scrub £7.40 for 125ml and Soap & Glory 'Glow Job' daily moisture lotion £9 for 75ml

Soap & Glory offer a large collection of products ranging from hand cream, to shower gel, to lip gloss! I believe they have a good reputation, a nice product for excellent and affordable prices. I'm going to review their facial scrub and their daily lotion, both are products I have been using for a few months.

Firstly, their packaging is really appealing. It's slightly Benefit- esque, it's nice. Retro imagery on the packaging, tongue- in- cheek product names along with the uniform colours of candy pink and warm creams mean that Soap & Glory can be spotted a mile off in Boots. They're also pushing a really credible cause, something they're calling the 'The Two Minute Rinse' where they state we only need about 120 seconds to get washed, shampooed and conditioned. They want each of us to see if we can do the Two Minute Rinse, because water, and more importantly, water shortages, is becoming a problem. I cannot BEAR water waste, (people who brush their teeth and keep the tap on, shame on you!) so I like their campaign.

Scrub Your Nose In It is a facial scrub designed to target the T-Zone to prevent clogging and large pores. I use it about once a week, because I feel like that is often enough to exfoliate my face. The texture is like soft clay, the scrub is fine but rough enough to make it feel like it is doing something and covering the entire surface I apply it to (something I find a problem with other scrubs). I apply it in a circular motion onto a damp face and leave for half a minute or so, mainly because I love the smell. You may think it looks like toothpaste, but it also smells like it, but it's also a sugary scent. It's gorgeous, after I've washed it off it genuinely feels like my skin has been revitalised and is breathing. It definately softens my skin too. 10/10!

Glow Job (LOL, amazin') is a moisturizer light enough for daily use. As you can tell from the size of the packaging, it is meant solely for facial use, so that's where I've been using it. I apply a pea sized amount in the morning after my shower, and allow it to soak in before applying my makeup. It's a light, fresh cream and it makes my skin feel nice (doesn't clog my skin up and hasn't caused any skin problems). It's different to basic facial creams because it contains Bronzeburst Beads which is why it is marketed as a Daily Radiance cream and where I suppose the 'Glow' in the name came from. The beads burst onto your face as you rub it in, causing an explosion of bronze! Although at first this is quite uneven, you have to blend it, after a couple of minutes my face does look tanned. Although a nice idea, I'm not too bothered about it, I just like the cream, plus the tan is soon covered by my makeup. It is nice, though, especially for a pale girl such as me to have in the summer.

In the centre, a couple of Bronzeburst Beads have, well, burst!

I'm really impressed with Soap & Glory and I will continue to buy their products, I've heard really good things about Hand Food so I might be trying that soon. Plus, Soap & Glory are currently 3 for 2 in Boots, so go treat yoursen!
